DREAMS & DYSTOPIAS

This thematic unit focuses on the evolution of Athenian architecture as well as its coexistence with the Attic landscape and light. This coexistence is at times harmonious and at other times unbalanced, creating in every case dreams and dystopias. Sometimes, however, dreams coexist with dystopias, both in reality and on the painter's canvas.
 

Dramatic shadows and a strong vertical tendency convey the notion of dystopia as well as the distancing of humanity from nature. Yet, the harsh Athenian reality leaves a glimmer of optimism through the soft Attic light.The subjects are approached with a free geometric style and an abstract attitude, balancing between dream and dystopia.
